Why Do My Paintings Always Look So Much Better When You Actually See Them Than Online?

Yesterday I was chatting on WhatsApp with one of my clients in the United States and she said to me “Sarah, your paintings always look so much better when you actually see them than online.”

I reflected on this. She is right. My paintings have texture as well as colour. The light catches the paint at different angles depending on time of day. Also, the many people who have had faith in me and have bought purely online seem to be delighted when their purchased painting arrives and often say it is much better than they had thought.

So I decided that one simple thing I could do was to have more images on the big slider that I have on my Home Page. This really gets you a bit nearer to the surface of each painting, the colour and texture. Its probably the best I can do online.

So you will now see one of my recent charcoal drawings, of the Chinese Arch, followed by three of the paintings that I currently have for sale for just 200 pounds each as part of the Artist Support Pledge. I hope you enjoy this small change.
